Test Phase

Step 1 Membership Form - Basic

1. Go to Membership Form, Enter basic fictitious test names.
2. Follow all options as available to new, renewing member
3. When find something that needs changing, change it by choosing Edit Membership Form located under the Functions tab.

Issues to resolve before leaving test phase:

• Choice at "Please select Membership Type" in Personal Information doesn't affect choices at Membership Fees. (done on Phil's Experimental Copy)
  • Full members shouldn't be given the choice of affiliate or student level

• Doesn't allow updating membership information: says "Please contact us to update or change your record."
• Reconcile RPSS not being an official membership category. (done on Phil's Experimental Copy)
  • This may be better as a regular member and cover this as a consultants sub- group

Questions to answer:

• Can we prorate dues without affecting membership renewal calcs?
• Will we be able to easily add fields once beyond the test phase (eg: areas of specialization)
• Will Stu be able to format pseudo-headings to appears same as true headings?

Step 2 Reports

1. Consulting Soil Scientists - Public Contact List - By Region - By State
2. Full record of all member information (Backup purposes)

• Can we alter membership join date?

Step 3 Membership Form - Add Custom Fields

Note these are for Members only.  Student and Afilliate members need not be burdened with these fields.

Best to play with this on a copy of the membership form.

If you create a custom field under member info that later you find you need to delete, you may have to delete all test memberships in order to get to it.

Features to add before leaving the test phase

• Add "are you a consulting soil scientist". (done on Phil's Experimental Copy)
  • This is as defined in the bylaws.
  • Only consultants can be officers.
  • Using a sort, only consultants will show up on our consultants lists.
• Add company website.
• Add specialties. (started on Phil's Experimental Copy - expand ala PAPSS Consultants list)
